Whew! We've been busy with the new house! There's a million things we want to do! We have somewhat put wedding plans on the side as we work on the house. However, the other day we remember that we still need to get our engagement photos taken by Red Gallery. It's the perfect time now with all the nice weather and springtime flowers.

We have been searching for a house these past few months, and have finally found one!! It is in the city of Westerville on the north east end of Columbus. We are currently in contract with a move-in date of March 26. We're really looking forward to painting and furnishing it in the months leading up to the wedding. And then, after our honeymoon, settling in and really making it our home! We have our work cut out for us between a new home and the wedding!

Our invitations arrived yesterday! We'll be working on those today. It won't be too long before you'll see them in your mailbox. Also, the bridesmaid dresses are in and they look great!

As you know from our previous post, our honeymoon plans have been made. We've added a little segment to our web page about it here:

Currently, we're finding a florist. We've visited one so far with more to come soon. But not too soon (as in this weekend), because we're heading to Crystal Mountain Ski Resort with Amy and Joe! We're really looking forward to that because we've been meaning to go skiing for some time. In fact, we decided to give ourselves a ski trip for Christmas 2004 instead of other gifts, but we never got around to it! So we're catching up this weekend.

So we've had a request for another post... no prob Laura, I'm on it!
My latest wedding news is that, Laura Cergol, one of my friends from high school, has showed me all the possibilities available on I knew it exsisted I just didn't know how much there was available to do. So last night we stayed up at least until 1:30am researching wedding ideas on

Other news.. my mom bought this really amazing fabric from JoAnn Fabrics to try to make me a jacket to wear over my wedding dress. The jacket will be a replica of Laura's amazing wedding dress jacket! Luckily she doesn't mind phewww =) My mom also bought some sheer fabric to make my veil. I'm glad to have a mom who can sew!

I really need to finalize my decision on the bridesmaid dresses. I know what dress I want, I just need to pick a color and order them. Maybe I'll even do that today, who knows!

My grandparents are two of the most generous people I've ever met in my life and they recently booked our reservations for our honeymoon. We will be going to Disney World (my favorite place in the world) for five days staying at Old Key West Resort and then we will drive to Vero Beach Resort for the weekend before flying back home. We absolutely can't wait! But time is really flying.

That's all for now! Love, Leslie

Take a look at our web site! It does take a little while to load and it does use Flash. If you have a slower connection, you can just use this link, but you'll miss out on the song and dance.

There are still a few things it needs, but you can at least get a preview. Namely, there are a few pictures and even names not in there yet that we'll be adding soon. We'll also be adding more and more pictures over the next several months. We may even post a copy of our slideshow we'll be showing at the reception (complete with music, photos and even a little commentary between pictures) !

This past Sunday, we attended a wedding expo at the Aladdin Shrine Center in Easton. We've already planned quite a bit of the wedding, but there are still some parts that need to be taken care of. Such as choosing a florist and reception music.

After speaking with a couple DJs and only receiving facial contortions when asking for a demo tape of them speaking/working, we were encouraged by another reception music possibility that isn't a DJ. A group from Fermata music impressed us as they played live at the expo. We have a phone consultation next Tuesday to go over details that hopefully we help us make a decision.

Also, we won a drawing for a free dinner and some free play time at GameWorks AND we were presented with a coupon for one free admission to the expo while we waited in line (which saved us $8).

The web site isn't ready yet ... but it's close!

I have been really busy this week trying to get as much done on the wedding as possible. I have finished all of my Save the Date cards finally. I really like the finished product! They are magnets, so don't forget to hang them on your fridge when you get yours!

Yesterday's cake tasting was interesting... the lady we had scheduled with actually forgot that we were coming. So apprently when we showed up outside her doublewide trailor her husband had to run and put his pants on. She thawed out some frozen cupcakes for us to taste which were not nearly as good as the 2 full cakes we had tasted at the Dublin C ake Cottage. Today I went ahead and called Ann Zanon from the Dublin Cake Cottage to tell her that we would like her to do the cake. Both she and I are very excited about the design I came up with for the cake... three square layers, the first in a fondant icing in a quilted design, the next in buttercream icing with little polkadots and the top layer will be plain, smooth fondant icing with a sugar ribbon around it 'tied' in a bow. I think we will be plain when it comes to flavors of the cake: chocolate and white with delcious filling: chocolate ganache and creme brulee.

I also signed the contact with Fairfield Inn on Olentangy River Rd today. I have 5 rooms blocked for 7/7 and 10 blocked for 7/8. So anyone who needs a room can just call and ask for the Blue/Strader wedding block and you will receive the 89$/night rate on a room with either one king sized bed or two double beds.

Lastly, I've been working on making dinner reservations for the rehersal dinner at Martini's. They have not gotten back to me yet, but I hope they do! Martini's has the best food in Cbus and it's my favorite restaurant. We went there the night we got engaged so it is appropriate we go again the night of rehersal.

That's about all I have.
